Visit the SAP Small Business web site.Scroll down the page and click the "View the Demo" link under the "Inventory and Operations" section.The demo will launch within your web browser. There are 4 tracks in the video. You only need to view Track 1: Introduction and Track 2: Automate the Order-to-Delivery Process.Answer the following questions after viewing the video:
Which departments within the company are integrated within the Order-to-Delivery process ?
Which steps are included in the Order-to-Delivery process ?
What factors would you consider when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business ?
Answer:
1. Sales department and the Warehouse/Logistics Department are intergrated within the Order-to-Delivery process.
2. When Sophie receive order, she can check real time inventory - make sales order - alert warehouse for same day delivery - drag down customer info for delivery - pick and pack manager function for unique serial no., print delivery note and packing slip. When carrier pick the goods, Sophie can get information from SAP and send e-mail to customer.
3. Price, capability and flexibility for future extension e.g. module extension

Question:
Think of a business or organization that you admire, then describe two examples of how that business is supported by information systems. For example, do they use it for operational excellence ? Or do they use it to create new products and services ?

Octopus card & Skype








Octopus -

a rechargeable contactless stored value smart card used to transfer electronic payments in online or offline systems in our city. It is widely used for all public transport in HK. Also, it can use for payment at convenice stores, supermarkets, fast-food restaurants, parking meters, car parks and vending machines.



When I was young, my wallet was untidy and bulky since I had to brought a lot of coins. I hate it so much! I like Octopus since I can bring my Octopus only and enjoy my convenience life.



Skype -

a software application that allows user to make a telephone calls over the Internet. Calls to other users of the service and to free-of-charge numbers are free, while calls to other landlines and mobile phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing.

I think Skype is a wonderful software in the world! Without Skype, I have to spend HK$1.98/min for calling my BEST friend whose living at Natherlands.
Haha.... I love SKYPE so much!
